The Department of Atlántico Activates Tourism with Unique Experiences.

Atlántico

Upon arriving in Barranquilla, the capital of the Department of Atlántico and the main city in the Caribbean Region, you’ll notice that there are various plans you can access: cultural, gastronomic, nightlife, ecological, and more. However, the experience doesn’t end there; you must explore a bit further to fully enjoy the entire range of tourist offerings throughout the department.

We begin with Usiacurí, a municipality known as the ‘Nativity Scene of Atlántico.’ There, you can appreciate a panoramic view of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta at dawn, lush greenery, landscaping, pedestrian paths, in a project consisting of six plazas distributed along the route that ends at the highest level of the Mirador Park. There are 287 steps from the first plaza to the highest one, which is 43 meters high.

Additionally, you can purchase handicrafts woven from Iraca. In this municipality, they are pioneers at the national level in this type of product.

Continuing our journey, to enjoy the best ‘arepa de huevo’ (egg-filled arepa), one must visit the Tourist Stop in Luruaco. It’s an excellent family plan, where you can find a 140-meter zipline, the ‘Stairs of Reflection,’ a viewpoint with a diverse Caribbean gastronomic offering, and you can also engage in water activities.

In the coastal corridor comprising the municipalities of Puerto Colombia, Tubará, Juan de Acosta, and Piojó, water sports take center stage. Surfing and paddle surfing on the beaches of Puerto Velero and sailing and kitesurfing in Salinas del Rey.

If you wish to take a colorful photo, the ideal place is the Vistamar Neighborhood in the municipality of Puerto Colombia, with 506 intervened houses that contribute to the landscaping of the linear park. It’s an urban gallery.

It’s important to highlight that tourism boosts the economy of these municipalities. Atlántico is a Colombian destination worth visiting, and WildTrip invites you to experience the vibrant warmth, colors, flavors, and rhythms of the Caribbean
