AN EVENT THAT CONNECTS THE TOURISM INDUSTRY: ANATO 4TH NATIONAL MEETING ON INBOUND TOURISM
On November 2nd and 3rd, 2023, the 4th National Meeting of Receptive Tourism was held in Riohacha, La Guajira. This meeting served as an educational platform, fostering debate, and facilitating business opportunities for participants.
The event focused on analyzing national and international tourism trends, sharing significant data such as a foreign exchange income of $4.12 billion in the first half of the year. In the case of international tourism, 32.8% was attributed to leisure tourism and 33.3% to events and business.
Workshops were conducted on sustainable best practices for tour operators, delving into topics such as supplier selection, destination promotion, technology utilization, responsible waste management, and support for local projects and organizations.
Additionally, the event featured a detailed exploration of community tourism and introduced the new ANATO CAPACITA platform.
Ecotourism also played a prominent role, driving the consolidation of nature tourism in the country’s protected areas as a strategy for ecosystem conservation and highlighting its potential as a business generator. Procolombia presented its 2023-2026 tourism promotion strategy.
On the second day of the event, a business roundtable was held, offering a valuable opportunity for all participants to exchange information and services. This segment was particularly enriching as it provided the chance to meet those dedicated to creating unforgettable experiences.
